Google I/O is Google’s annual developer conference, a three-day event where the company details the future of its various products and services. They also host education sessions for creators and developers who use their services.
What to Expect at I/O this year
The biggest news from the conference is expected to be announced in the opening keynote by Google CEO, Sundar Pichai.
For a lot of people, the world of personal technology is like a spectator sport. Everyone has their favourite groups and personalities. We always enjoy the crescendo of hype surrounding a big set piece event.
Google I/O is definitely one of the most notorious events on the tech calendar year. Based solely on Google’s massive reach and influence. However, we’re not expecting too much in the way of new hardware – we’ve found that they tend to save those for October.
Google Assistant and Home are expected to be the big focuses as their team continues to work on building its own digital assistant. This comes from continued pressure from its competitor, Amazon.
Additionally, there could be more news on Android O, the next version of Google’s mobile OS.
With news on their VR plans, messaging apps and updates to Chrome OS, it’s going to be a jam packed three days.
